Organisational Strategic Objectives

    Establish, coordinate and support a research network which enhances understanding of the role and utilisation of extracorporeal life support in the management of patients with acute, life-threatening circulatory failure, with focus on the population of Scotland.

    Create and manage a data infrastructure which supports best practice in the management of acute, life-threatening circulatory failure.

    Deliver an education programme which raises awareness of acute, life-threatening circulatory failure in the wider healthcare community and which equips specialist staff with the knowledge and skills required to deliver safe and effective extracorporeal life support.
  • 4

    To work with NHS Scotland and other providers of health and emergency care to ensure the people of Scotland have timely and equitable access to world leading extracorporeal life support provision.
